Sting Had a Great Success Yesterday at the Rome Auditorium...
From 'Englishman in New York' to 'Roxanne', from 'Russians' to 'Fields of Gold', from 'King of Pain' to 'Bourbon Street', from 'Desert Rose' to 'Fragile'. Last night, in the fantastic setting of the Rome Auditorium, Gordon Sumner, aka Sting, performed his entire repertoire. Two hours of great music, with the audience captivated by the former Police member's tunes. From 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic' to 'Next To You', from 'Every Breath You Take' to 'If I Ever Lose My Faith in You', the solo singer thrilled audiences with his most famous songs. At the end of the concert, everyone stood to applaud the star who bid farewell to Rome. The Symphonicity world tour stopped at the Parco della Musica seven months after its last concert at the Auditorium. Sting was accompanied by a group of great musicians, including Dominic Miller (Sting's long-time guitarist), Rhani Krija (multi-genre percussionist), Jo Lawry (vocals), and Ira Coleman (bass). Special guest was his son Joe Sumner, who performed "Two Sisters." Pop, jazz, folk, classical music: as usual, Sting enjoyed experimenting, merging musical genres, getting his fans singing along and clapping. As a solo artist and member of the Police, Sting has received sixteen Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, three Oscar nominations, the Century Award given by Billboard magazine, and was named Person of the Year by MusiCares in 2004. He is also inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
